How do you arrange factory visits in Thailand?
Contact each factory at least one to two weeks ahead, in Thai if you can, and through the channel it actually uses, which is often LINE or the phone rather than email. Ask for a confirmed date, time, address and contact person in writing, and check whether you will see the production line or only a showroom.
How early should you ask?
Allow at least one to two weeks. Factories need to find someone to host you, and many reply slowly to buyers they do not know. A request sent a few days before your trip often gets no answer in time.
Which channel gets a reply?
Email alone often fails. Some addresses bounce, some messages land in spam, and some listed numbers are not on WhatsApp. In Thailand, LINE is the main business messaging app, and a phone call in Thai is often the fastest way to reach the right person. A short message in Thai with an English version below it usually gets a better response than English only.
Showroom or factory?
Ask directly. Many companies first invite buyers to a showroom in Bangkok, while the production site is somewhere else. A showroom shows finished products; only the factory shows how they are made. If seeing production matters to you, say so when you ask.
What should you confirm in writing?
- Date and start time
- Exact address and map pin, checked against the company's website
- Name and phone number of the person meeting you
- Whether you will see production, a showroom, or both
- How many people are coming
Which dates should you avoid?
Check the Thai public holiday calendar before fixing dates. Many factories close on public holidays, and the Cabinet sometimes adds extra holidays at short notice. Songkran in mid-April is the longest break.
How can SiamPartner help?
SiamPartner's team contacts factories in Thai through email, LINE and phone, confirms each visit in writing and plans the route between them. We tell you clearly which visits are confirmed and which are still pending, so you are not travelling on assumptions.
Common questions
Will every factory agree to a visit?
No. Some only meet buyers who have shared quantities or drawings, and some only offer a showroom. Plan for a few to decline and keep back-up options.
Should I visit during Thai public holidays?
Avoid them. Many factories close on public holidays, and Songkran in mid-April can shut production for a week or more.
