How do you stay safe on a business trip to visit factories in Thailand?

Short answer

Most business trips to Thailand go smoothly, but take simple precautions. Only use transport you have booked and confirmed in writing, share your itinerary with someone you trust, never exchange money through strangers, and pay suppliers and service providers by bank transfer, not cash.

Which transport should you use?

Only get into a vehicle you have booked yourself or through a company you have checked. Before the day, ask for the driver's name, the car model and the number plate in writing, and check them when the car arrives. Be careful with lifts offered at the last minute by people you have just met.

Who should know your plans?

Share your daily itinerary, with each factory's address, with a colleague or family member. Turn on live location sharing on your phone. If the route changes unexpectedly, tell someone and ask why.

What about money?

What should you check before meeting someone?

Check that the company exists and that the meeting address matches its official website or registration. Be careful with meetings moved at short notice to a new location, especially one far from the factory.

What other precautions help?

How can SiamPartner help?

SiamPartner checks factory addresses against official sources, confirms every visit in writing and shares your full itinerary and transport details before the day. We only accept payment by company bank transfer and never handle cash on site.

Common questions

What number should I call in an emergency?

The Tourist Police hotline is 1155. It operates 24 hours a day and has English-speaking officers.

Is it safe to accept a lift from a supplier?

Only if you have checked the company and agreed the arrangement in advance. Do not get into a car arranged at the last minute by someone you have not verified.
